Sungrains Supports Plant Genetic Conservation for Future Generations

On 12 October 2026, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn presided over the opening of the 9th Regional Academic Conference and Exhibition on School Botanical Gardens and Local Resource Bases at the 60th Anniversary of His Majesty the King’s Accession to the Throne International Convention Center, Prince of Songkla University, Hat Yai, Songkhla, Thailand.

On this occasion, a Sungrains executive presented a monetary donation to Her Royal Highness in support of the Plant Genetic Conservation Project. The contribution was a source of pride for the Sungrains team, reflecting its support for the conservation of natural resources, a cause to which Her Royal Highness has long been dedicated.

The conference and exhibition provided a platform for schools, communities, and organizations to share knowledge about plants, nature, and local wisdom, while exchanging experiences in conserving Thailand’s resources.

School botanical gardens give children and young people opportunities to learn from the natural world around them. Studying plants on school grounds helps them understand the value of natural resources and environmental stewardship. Meanwhile, surveying and documenting local resources helps communities recognize their value and use them sustainably.

At Sungrains, we believe that nature is the foundation of life and good food. We are pleased to support the conservation of plants and natural resources, helping preserve this valuable heritage for future generations to learn from, care for, and carry forward.
